We at Temperature Control have had a busy year, and what a year it’s been, with the past twelve months involving lots of new ground for us, alongside providing consistent installation and maintenance services. Here’s a look at what we have achieved thanks to our incredible team.
Installation Projects
We have worked on a variety of installation projects this year, including:
- 131 VRV/VRF systems consisting of 774 fan coil units
- 179 Split systems
- 13 Large commercial ASHPs
- 39 Ventilation systems
Environmental Impact
Part of TCL’s vision is to reduce the energy use in the built environment without compromising comfort and service. As part of this, we are part of the change moving from reliance on R410a refrigerant to R32, and more than 60% of our installations have been R32 this year.
Most air conditioning systems use refrigerant as a part of the refrigeration cycle. As manufacturers improve their technology to combat climate change, the industry standard is changing from R410a (with a Global Warming Potential of 2088) to R32 with a GWP of 675 – a two thirds reduction.
With the ever-evolving changes to legislation, TCL is best positioned to continue to advise and assist our clients to offer the correct solution for each application.
Working on Extraordinary Projects
The last 12 months have seen TCL assist with the completion of a wide range of applications ranging from retail stores through to large hotel projects, both new build and retrofit. We have also taken part in school refurbishments, high end high rise commercial office buildings, and Grade 2 listed building restorations. We are very excited to have worked on multiple football stadium stand upgrades, and have enjoyed the unique challenges of working on windfarm substations.
Starbucks Spotlight
Our longstanding relationship with Starbucks Coffee Company continues to go from strength to strength, with Temperature Control delivering air conditioning and ventilation to over 15 new Starbucks coffee shops in the last year.
MD Statement
This year, we have reaffirmed our goal of reducing energy use in buildings, and our focus on R32 for large projects has greatly lowered the environmental impact of our systems. Moreover, we are proud that our efforts towards decarbonisation, including large-scale electrification of heating to providing cooling to large wind farm power generation, have helped towards the government’s environmental goals.
This couldn’t be achieved without such a strong team, and I personally want to thank all within the business who continuously contribute to our success on a day-to-day basis.
With a solid order book and ongoing growth, we look forward to achieving similar and even greater successes in the future.
